Anyone watching the Spring Olympics here in rainy Vancouver?
no, I heard the Olympics this year have been sucking so far.
It didn't start well at all, as you know. Damn shame. US gold, silver, and 2 bronze today tho.
Can't stand the Olympics, myself, so nope.
(Haven't turned the television on in 3 months except to watch a DVD.)
I prefer the objectivity of the internet frontier for all my important issues as I can exclude what I find to be trivial, misleading, or downright evil with the click of a mouse.
Unfortunately, the free internet here in Australia is on it's death bed.
Government forces are attempting to censor information under the devious guise of stamping out "objectionable material".
Life truly mimics art.
Hello, 1984
Figure I might as well since I'm helping pay for the damn thing now. Tho, I would have much preferred the 1B+ (tax money) went towards schools instead of cutting programs. I didn't get a vote about hosting the games, tho. :P
What kind of politics do you support, Doc? Mbe we should look into some new options.
I support the virtual waterboarding of politicians from any party if they overstep their boundaries of our inherit civil liberties, Indi.
In a nutshell.
But I wouldn't want to overstep the boundaries of LF by getting too deep into the subject, obviously. :)
Hahah. Good thing Stephen Colbert is helping out with the Olympic Snow Drive.
that's because everything now thinks that i'm gay because of my title... i can't help it.Quote:

wait... speaking of the olympics, someone has already died right?? was he an america competitor??

No, he was Georgian. Died on a luge training run. :(
They had to make some repairs afterwards to make sure it's safe. Not sure though, i think they should have cancelled that event.
canceling the event would have disappointed a lot of attendees. more so, all the participants would be really disappointed.

The luge event is insane to begin with and inherently dangerous. Flinging your body down an ice track at over 100kph isn't for the faint of heart. I feel bad for the young athlete's family, but he knew the risks going into this and chose to push his limits.
anyone see the video of the accident? Not pretty. Looked like he died instantly upon impact.
i couldn't find the video.
