My boyfriend broke up with me over his depression

2 days ago my boyfriend broke up with me over his depression, after 7 months and up until then it had been a good relationship and i feel like i became a stronger person because of this, i always knew he was taking medication for his anxiety and i knew about his family issues, but he had been very closed off, and whilst i always wanted to be there for him, he would always keep stuff from me. In the past week i noticed that he had seemed very withdrawn. But i still have so many questions that i feel need answering and i said i will support him. And i know its horrid, but i just feel like he doesnt care and seems to be coping with this so much better than me, he seems completely over it, and i cant help in thinking that its perhaps something that i did that ruined this relationship . I see him everyday at college and we have the same friendship group, i still want to be there for him as a friend but its hurting me; I have gone through periods of depression,and had attempted suicide in the past, at college i feel so isolated, and feel as though everyone is ignoring me now

Hi, I can relate to what you're feeling right now. Break ups are tough. You are not the problem. The problem is that he has issues with himself, it seems like he has trouble opening to another person and perhaps is afraid of bonding too closely with you. Some people are like this. I see how painful it must be to you due to the fact you have to see him regularly. You should avoid emotional situations with him and fill up your time with activities that you love. If you would really be unable to cope with the sadness then get help from a specialist, there is nothing wrong in that. If you would ever need to talk with somebody but wouldn't have anyone to talk to at that exact moment, feel free to PM me, I'll try to respond as fast as I can. :)

hes emotionally unavailable, its not your fault. you need to accept its over and start moving on. he has issues that only he can fix and this was a test to your relationship. the fact he pushed you away instead of pulling you closer proves your not right for each other.

it will take time but youll get over him-pain is only temporary and you wernt together that long so it shouldnt take long to heal
