I don't think there's anything sexier in foreplay then good kissing. Go for it and enjoy it. Do you want more from this person, just the kissing, or just friendship...???
If you both understand what it is- just practice- and want to, go ahead. No one is stopping you. It's perfectly normal for people to want practice and act upon it. When I was younger and just starting to understand sex and dating (I never had "the talk."), I used to practice kissing with my hand....and that's something I haven't told anyone till now, but it worked. I never heard any complaints from the guys.
I did this with someone when I was 14, her was 17. It was for fun, me and my GFs all had a laugh about it.
