when your bf doesnt reply to your txt within a "reasonable" time frame?

Hi girls,

I've been with my girlfriend for about 4 months now.

I just have a quick question.

This is the scenario:

You're mid-text-conversation, i.e. you have just sent your bf a text message in response to his, with, say, a question, for example, (i.e. there is cause for a reply to your text), but he doesn't reply for a couple of hours. Does it upset you? Does it make you think that he doesn't care about you?

This may be a trivial question, but i just wish to understand women the best I can, in order to be the best boyfriend I can.

I'm quite bad at typing a text message on my phone, so sometimes I get a bit lazy, and it can take me a few hours to reply. And I just wonder if it upsets my girlfriend. I know that she would be the best person to ask, but I feel like she will tell me it doesn't bother her, even if it does.

I would love a girls opinion on this.

Yes I recommend you ask her. But for what it's worth I don't really care if my bf texts a few hours late or not. He is lazy also or busy or out of credit on his phone so quite often it's not til hours that I get a response. I know if it was something really important he would make sure to get back to me asap but if it was an emergency I'd just phone him anyway and vice versa.

You know, before there was texting, we had to wait for our bf/gf to be by a phone and, before we could even ask a question we had to be by a phone. It didn't kill us to wait. Those it did kill to wait turs out more times than not they were not very good relationship material.

Yes, it upsets me (or irritates, depending on the nature of the question). And I grew up in the era before cell phones.
