If you're talking about a serious, committed relationship where each partner is emotionally responsible for the other, then yes.
If you mean that people should be single until they're perfect, that's not going to happen. Being involved with others is how we grow.
I think that first and formost you should love yourself. No one is gonna love you if they see that you don't love and appreciate yourself before anyone else or if they see you have low self-esteem.
I was pretty much raised by wolves. They didn't teach me how to love myself. A lot of that, I credit to boyfriends. They treated me better than my family, and it really opened my eyes about how things could be.
If you're open to learning, having a relationship is the best way to evolve.

what the f-ck does that even mean?? How can you be in love with yourself? I think accepting themselves is about the best most can shoot for.
You should dissect yourself like how you dissect that mice in school and study thoroughly.

Yes, it's actually not possible to love anyone else without loving ourselves, but I've never heard anyone give practical advice about what it means --
to me, it means cleansing myself of judgments of myself and others.
And even that, people talked about but didn't tell me how to do. So I turned to things like meditation, compassionate (non-violent) communication, and Emotional Freedom Technique. I cleansed away so many judgments that I barely recognize myself anymore, and feel so much happier, and now men are naturally attracted to me without me having to do anything. It feels wonderful.
I'd havve done anything though to find good advice five years ago. There was bad advice everywhere I turned. Advice that actually made things worse. I'm glad I finally found what works for me.
I'm curious what prompts you to ask the question ...
