Posting Problems
Whenever I put a link in a post, with standard URL tags:
[url=http://www.online-literature.com/swift/947/]A Modest Proposal[/url]
My post takes forever to go up or even fails. This happens regardless of the website I'm linking to, I just always have to retry posting it 10-20x or just cut out the link.
-
That's weird. I don't have that problem, so I don't think it's an LF issue.
-
I just tried to post that exact link, copy and paste into quick-reply (and later "Go Advanced") and it failed each time. But this current post will go through immediately since its devoid of a link. I wonder if anyone else has the problem, maybe people who are not mods/admins? I never have this problem on any other forum.

My computer won't even let me load that page. Apparently, there's a "detectable threat" there.
What's up with that?
-
Not sure, I get "detectable threat" alerts so often that its meaningless, and almost always inaccurate. I just tried it with Yahoo and it still fails:
[url=http://www.yahoo.com/]Yahoo[/url]

[url]http://www.beautydesign.com/product.php?product_id=666&product_name=Covent-Plex-150[/url]
-
^^^That loaded in four seconds. I cut it directly out of the address bar, without the URL tags. Can you give that a shot and see if it works?
-
[url]http://www.beautydesign.com/product.php?product_id=666&product_name=Covent-Plex-150[/url]
-
Without URL tags it works, with URL tags it gets stuck in the loading page until eventually I am redirected to a blank page and nothing is posted.
I think there is just a problem with using [url= tags. Can you try posting with a URL= tag?
-
[URL="http://www.google.com/"]http://www.google.com/[/URL]
-
That took a little longer, about 9 seconds.
-
No, I mean like, copy and paste this:
[url=http://www.google.com/]Google[/url]
-
Mine looked like that in the Reply window with the exception that the second part of the string also included the www. and the .com.
-
How are you getting that format? Aren't you clicking the link in the Reply box, the one that looks like a planet Earth with a link icon?
