Or, just get married to someone who actually take marriage seriously (absolute commitment and divorce not an option).
Divorce needs to be an option. People change. If he changes a lot over 20 years and turns into a horrible person then divorce is the only option

Marriage comes after those things, not those things after marriage. I believe in marriage, and marrying for the right reasons.
I always think besides emotional argumentations, there is always a factual way of seeing things...and if we want to talk about "guarantee", you always need some numbers...because we all know how it is "Men lie, women lie, but numbers don't lie"
I agree with the OP. Sadly I made that mistake and thought my marriage would last forever. It wasn't particularly bad, but I did not tell my wife that I loved her every day. I let it dwindle and took my love for granted.
Don't make the same mistake.
