Of course, you're talking about most married couples fighting over kids... Most unmarried couples fight over a plethora of things... But either way, I doubt that'd ever work. Most of the time, fights lead to hurt feelings. No one is going to say "The asshole that bitched to me like a little baby I knew just had to give me his children."
Sometimes couples fight because each are so passionate, I think there is an art to fighting with a love done where you refuse to say a trigger you know that person will be wounded by. So anything that really damaged or hurt that person in their past is always off limits in a fight. I had an ex bring up something from my childhood I shared with him in a silly fight once and I was like, that is just wrong and I thought differently about him after. No reason to go THERE, imo.
