In Your Opinion, Do breaks ever work?

Do you guys think that a break can ever work? If so, how long of a break?

If youre going to take a break then dont set a date to get back together because most likely you wont.

Though Ive never tried taking a break I am just assuming.

Nope. If the relationship has gotten bad enough that you need to separate, best to just go your separate ways and write it off as a loss.

I also don't understand this needing a break/having breaks. And if someone wasn't sure they wanted to be with me or not, which is why they are suggesting a break, I wouldn't be waiting around.

I think that people who suggest 'breaks' or 'space', say it and because they havn't got the guts to come clean and tell you they want out.

What about breaking up and getting back together at a later time sort of break?

Usually there isn't a getting back together time... and when there is, it's merely the death throws of a dying relationship as they soon break for good.

A break was the best thing for my relationship. The break lasted 2 months--was necessary for us to realize what we needed to do to make our relationship better. We are better than ever before.

Many people don't get back together not because breaks don't work but because they don't know how to behave during a break. It's not easy at all. You know your relationship is pretty much broken and any negative thing you do will end up destroying it for good. This is what happens sometimes when people get back together too soon. This is a time to work on yourself and be forgiving towards the person who decided to break your heart by asking for a break.

Breaks don't work. Because all too often one party DOES find something in another person during the break and the other party is unable to get over this experimentation and ultimately the break is finalized.
