Consequences of a lack of self discipline
Last week I posted a thread and made reference to a young lady I have been seeing for a little over a month. I am falling very much in love with her and based on what she says the feelings are mutual. We have had an allied working relationship for over two years. She is the manager of a medical review service and I do all of their reviews where emotional consequences/disability are presenting issues. I do excellent reviews but I have a serious problem with often procrastinating and getting the reviews in late which causes more work and problems for the staff. This is a real problem for me. I hate to think of all the late fees I have paid on bills simply because I set them aside. I get better for a while then slip back into my old habits. Finally some of the staff complained to the owners and and the word came down. Any more late reports and they use someone else. This would cost me between $5-6K per month.
I work out of my home and my young lady came by after work to collect a review that was due and as you might suspect it was not done. She told me that she was going to do everything in her power to prevent me from sabotaging myself. She said starting with this review she would come by to pick it up at the end of the day it is due. She also said she was taking a cue from my aunt who took a hairbrush to my bare backside when I was 13 for coming home 6 hours late. She pulled a sorority paddle out of her briefcase and told me every time I did not have a review done she would give me 10 hard swats on the bare backside then wait until I finished the review and she would then leave a drop it off at her office.
I told her it seemed like she had found an excuse to spank me after having read my postings. Her response was "I won't tell you that the prospect does not hold a certain appeal but whether or not I enjoy it is irrelevant but I can assure you that you won't enjoy it and I will get my reviews on time." She said she would not touch me sexually in any manner and that she would not stay after I finished the review. She said she did not want to see me lose that income and she had serious doubts that I would not slip back into my old bad habits after a period of time. I can not argue her logic.
When I complained that this was demeaning and humiliating she said, "It need not be. All you have to do is consistently get the reviews done on time. Or simply tell me to leave and tomorrow I will find another person.The owners are firm on this." I ask her if we could start her "program" next time and her answer was "No we start right now." Since I am not in a position to afford that kind of financial loss I consented. She was right I did not enjoy it. There was zero arousal. She did it in a very methodical and business like manner. Afterward I finished the report, she gave me a hug and left. So far I am up to date on the reviews and I have also stopped procrastinating in general. It was painful but I can't argue with the results. I am determined that it will not be necessary again.
I do love her and see a future for us. I believe she has my best interest at heart even though her methods are extreme. When we got together the next time I started to bring it up and she said there is nothing to discuss. My question is will this arrangement cause problems?
