Continue to pursue love for colleague?
I hope you guys have some tips for what to do in my situation.
A few weeks ago a new woman started working at my department. She looks cute, real girlfriend/wife material and almost instantly I fell hard for her, something I did not expect to happen to me anymore at my age (31).
I work closely together with her and one other colleague. Both the woman and my colleague are originally from Poland and I can only converse in English with them. Obviously from the start I tried to get her to like me and I felt there was at least some chemistry, she laughs at my jokes, bumps into me, looks/smiles at me, strokes her hair .. that sort of thing... or perhaps I'm just reading the 'signals' wrong.
A woman who works in a company with mainly men obviously has more men trying to get with her. It wasn't a real surprise my other colleague is also interested in her, although I did not really see him as a threath since it doesn't even seem like he was that into her. Also he doesn't have anything I don't we both have average looks, same height, same age etc. the only thing he has is that he can speak in their native tongue.
Anyways, to make a long story short it seems like she is more into him than me. I feel like we have a good connection but I guess it could be because she's just friendly and laughs at my jokes.
Even though I have to work closely with them I can be professional about it but obviously it still hurts me. What I do not know if I should just give up right now and just accept that she likes him better or keep trying to flirt with her and hope something changes. I do not want to give up on her but asking her out could become really awkward if she rejects me.
So hopefully you guys have some tips on what to do?
