How do you know its for real?

Hey,
This one is for people in serious or long-term relationships.

How do you know its the one? How do you know its what you want.
I have a girl, shes great, shes really good to me but sometimes I can't get these ideas out of my head that, hey, I'm still young, I could be out there meeting other people, doing other things... who knows.

I'm kinda shy though and then theres a voice at the back of my head saying "are you crazy? Look how much she likes you, you know you aren't good at getting girls, how can I throw this away, you'll never get it back."

I dunno. Do you just "know"? Even when its the "one" do people still sometimes have these doubts.
I'm just having these feelings because we're going out over a year now and I'm thinking, won't I make this harder in the long run if I continue having these doubts? But I'll never get a girl to love me like she does again. I just don't know if I'm as crazy about her. I mean, I really really care for her but sometimes I just wonder, will I be happy here always...

I dunno, deep stuff I suppose, just nice to get it out some way. :)

How old are you, and have you ever had any other serious relationships?

It's actually pretty simple. If your happy your content in your current situation. If your not happy then you need to move on. everyone has doubts at some point if the relationship hits a serious point like marriage for example. And yes if you found this girl who cares for you, you can find another. Don't sell yourself short, everyone deserves something good!

If you are attracted to her physically, emotionally and rationally and she is to you (With no doubts), and you love her then hold on to her with both your hands and don't let her go...

Chances are you won't find anyone better than that out there and you will go through a long period of guilt of letting a partner like that go just so you can look for something better.

If it's real, you'll know; there will be once moment where she does something, and then that voice will tell you for certain. happened to me that way. Just don't "settle".

Even if he did, does that mean his love wasn't real?

As for me, I may have worried about the timing and things like that, but never did I question if I had the right person.

I didn't suggest that. I was just curious if he was married or not?

Sounds like your over-thinking your situation, buddy.

Love isn't as complicated as we'd all like to think it is, or at least it doesn't need to be.

Does she make you happy? Do you love spending time with her? Do you feel something when you look in her eyes?

That should be it. Answer 'yes' to all of the above and you're SET.

Yea, I think you'll know. If you dont know, then you're hesitant, and there probably wasn't a reason. With my Ex, I was considering marriage and there were moments when I felt it was right. However, I never proposed. There was a reason for that and by not acknowledging that, I was wasting time. If you have doubts, then you shouldn't hide from them.

Sounds like you're not really in love with her, but you love the fact that someone loves you.

Damn, you said she loves you so many times and how much she loves you that she must give crazy awesome sex.

How do you know that no one else will ever love you that deeply again?
Do both of you a favour and get real with your feelings. If you're not feeling it then tell her, but think about it. Don't be a dumba** and throw it all away.
Plus, if she truly loves you then she'll want you to be happy. It's a pretty selfless thought, but it's true.
And don't you think that she deserves for someone to love her like she does you? Think about it.

Everyone has doubts. It's human nature. Deal. Relationships are hard work and really it's a matter of how much work you want to put into making it last.

We all wish that we could "just know". We may feel certain and absolutely sure that they are "the one" and then they break your heart.
