How can I start up communication again?
Background:
I have been with my girl for 7 years now. When we first started out, we were hot and heavy for each other. As time went on, we found things in common (Golf, wanting to live life a certain way, jacuzzi, exercise, walking, etc) and we always had things to talk about.
For the past 2-3 years, at my request, she has been helping me learn how to be a more responsible man (how to organize properly, how to maintain finances, how to control my thinking so I can control spending habits, how to cook to save money and eat healthy) I am having problems absorbing the things she teachs me sometimes.
What the problem is now:
I want to talk with her and I know she wants to talk with me. But I can sense that neither of us don't know what to say anymore.
I know on my part, I think I am scarred of saying anything because I would talk with her to strike up a conversation and she would come down on me for wasting cell phone time or wasting her time while she has to study - Stuff like that.
She is going for her MBA now and will graduate in 10 months hopefully. I understand she is busy.
This is the basic idea of what is going on.
So please, ask me your questions and I'll answer honestly.
Can anyone help me fix my communication problem with the only one I love in life? It is our plan to get married when she graduates and start a family. But I fear that if we can't start communicating again she may leave me.
FYI: I have interest in her. I spend every weekend helping her with her studies and I spend an hour each night listening to recordings of her class lectures to help her understand.
Did I mention I am caucasion and she is from Japan?
