i listen to music whenever i can. that's why i keep quoting songs all the time – no matter what people say or do, there's already a song been written about it. sometimes it only takes a word or phrase and a song will force it's way into my mind – as just has happened with your "am i the only one" – as soon as i read the words, i heard david bowie sing "oh no love, you're not alone!" inside my head, even though it's been a very long time since i last actually listened to the song.
but of course, it's not the words alone that make me listen to a song. it's also the rhythms, tunes, structures – whatever makes the "sound" of a song.
