I was reading it and i thought it does have some merit of truth when trying to date someone.

It could have some truth but I personally think it's a load of bullshit. I definitely don't think you should use that tactic when it comes to dating. While it may be true that if you let them go, they come back if they love you, do you really want to leave them? I think there are other ways to know that it is 'real'.
I've heard that one many times before. But how about changing "something" to "someone". Ending up with "If you love someone, let him/her go; if he/she comes back, then its real. If he/she doesnt, then it was never meant to be."
But I agree with Prodigal too, maybe if you have to let them go, something is forcing you to...but you really dont want to.

i wouldnt consider this quote true in most cases because there are simply too many things thats could contridict(sp?) it. but i do think if its meant to be its meant to be. i wouldnt ever let someone go just for the sake of determining its real whether they come back or not.
Yeah, kind of like, if you disagree on something, and decide to break up, and then that person ( usually the guy ) cannot be without you, he will come back to you and ask for another chance.
If someone says this to you as an excuse for breaking up, let them go and never contact them again...Quote:
