I want to go out with him.....

There's a guy I've known for a little over a year that's friends with a few guys I've gone out with and we've been in the same classes at school too. He's also friends with one of my crushes and he knows that I like person a lot. What he doesn't know, is that I like him a lot. He doesn't get very good grades in school and his friends think he's a dumbass, but I don't think he is one. Over the past few weeks, I've been talking to him a lot online and he's told me how he thinks I'm really smart and nice. That's how I started developing a crush on him. He keeps telling me that he's sick of being single and that he wants a girlfriend for Christmas. I told him that I wanted the same thing too. Now that we're on Christmas Vacation, we've been talking online even more and I've been flirting with him a bit. Two nights ago, out of nowhere, he told me that he loved me so much and thought I was really sexy. I told him I loved him too. Tonight, when I was talking to him online, I told him that I was in a good mood and asked him if he knew why. He guessed that it was probably because I was talking to him, and it was. He then told me that he loved me. I also mentioned what he had said to me a few nights ago and told him that I felt the same way about him. He didn't say much other than the fact that he thought that was "cool" and "If you want me, I'm all yours. I don't care." ~I found that rather odd. I continued flirting with him and he was somewhat flirting back. I'm trying to make it as obvious as possible to let him know I like him, but I'm not so sure if he's getting the hint. I'd rather he'd ask me out.....but since he has a Christmas present for me, I was thinking that my asking him out would be his present. I don't know whether to wait and see if he asks me....or go ahead and take the chance of asking him. What should I do?

Let me get this, he said he loves you, and you said you love him? and You're still curious about wether he likes you or not? He said if you want him he is all yours. When he stated the "I don't care" part, that means absolutely nothing about not caring, I am sure he does like you if he already said he loves you.......So What that means is......He is all yours!!!! Now go get him!

OK. By looking at your question I am guessing you are no older than 15. Now, if he said things such as
"You're sexy"
"You're smart"
"You're nice"
"I'm tired of being single"
"I love you so much"
"I love you"
then its pretty obvious that if you'd ask him out he'd say yes. He's not missing the hint, he can't possibly be that stupid, he's just a pussy and doesn't dare make the move so do it for him if you want him.

Easy. On Christmas you say, "Remember what you said about wanting a girlfriend for christmas?" Then you hold a piece of mistletoe over your head and say, "Merry Christmas".

I wish it was that easy. I'm not even sure if I'll be seeing him on Christmas. If I don't get a chance to see him, I could always talk to him on the phone or something and say the same thing you suggested. That could possibly work.

Birt, next time you get a chance. Ask him to ask you out, Example: you say to him "Ask me if I want to be your girlfriend" When he asks, simply tell him yes. The important part is getting it done right? It would probably be best when no one is around, over the phone or whatever, choose what you are most comfortable with. Just not around people who could critisize(make fun of) you or him. Best of Luck...and Merry Christmas!

I didn't get a chance to see him on Christmas, but I did happen to talk to him online that night. Here are parts of the interesting conversation I had with him. These aren't the exact words, but it's pretty close:

(He got on a different screen name that had “hot boy” in it.)

Me: I like your screen name.
Him: Haha, I like your screen name.
Me: Yours speaks the truth, lol.
Him: No it doesn’t.
Me: Yes it does.
Him: If it did, I would have a girlfriend.
Me: What if I told you I wanted to be your girlfriend?
Him: I dunno.

(Then he went on talking about something else.)

This is the actual conversation I had with him later on when I was getting ready to get offline:

Me: i better go
Him: okay lyl

Me: of me, lol

When guys say "I dunno" to questions like that, does that mean that they're actually saying "Yes" but they're too chicken to say the actual word? Hmm.....maybe I should just flat-out ask him if he'll go out with me.....

If he is attracted to you I can't believe he'd say "I dunno"... that doesn't make much sense to me. If I'm going to flirt with somebody and play hard to get I wouldn't say "I dunno"...

I talked to him on Friday and got his phone number. Later on that night, I talked to him online again and we were going back and forth saying that we loved each other. I thought it would be cool to play Hangman over the internet with him.....that would give me a chance to ask him out. A few rounds went by and when it was my turn, I decided to give him a question. He eventually found out the question was "Will you go out with me?" It was his turn and his question was "Do you wanna go out?" It was my turn and I said "Hell yeah!" It was his turn again and his question was "Really?" I said "Yup!" We got back to talking to each other online again and he said:

Him: Are you sure you wanna go out?
Me: Yeah.
Him: Are you really sure? Seriously?
Me: Yeah.
Him: Okay.
Him: ;)
Me: Is there a reason why I shouldn't go out with you?
Him: No.
Me: Okay.


When I was getting offline, he told me to call him the next day. I did, and we were on the phone for a long time. Things were fine.....the only problem was that we didn't have much to talk about. He kept saying that it was because he's a boring person, but I don't think he is. I'm not the most talkative person in the world, and when I was on the phone with him, I wasn't talking to him much. (I'm shy when it comes to guys.) He wanted me to get online because he thinks I talk more over the computer than on the phone. That's true, I do feel more comfortable talking to people through computers, but I'd rather talk to them on the phone or in person. I was having a great conversation with him online. This is a really stupid question, but what are some things we could talk about in person or on the phone that would lead to long conversations?
