How to get over someone

Hey,
Im 16 and Ive liked this girl for 3 and a half years now and I really really like her, I would say love but I really dont know if I do but I dont really care if i love her or like her because I know i do relaly like her. She has never liked me more then a friend and never really even liked me as a friend but about 5 weeks ago we became heaps closer friends and she knew I liked her way more then a friend. Anyway today I asked her (after a long in depth conversation about how Ive liked her for ages) if she would ever ilke me more then a friend and she said never. I respect that she doesnt like me more then a friend and I do really want to be friends but its really hard and Im always really depressed and Im notussally a sad type of person but just thinking about her makes me want to cry. I go to the same school so I see her every day but I dont know what to do. Should I keep trying or should I finally give up?

The only problem is I cant give up because I cant get over her. How do I get over her when I have to see her every day?

I have tried to give her up before and go out with other girls. In fact Ive been out with a fair few girls while ive liked her but its ended a few days later due to me not liking them as much as i liked this girl. My last girl friend was a model and I broke up with her because I just couldnt stop thinking about this other girl and the model in theory was wayyy better but i just cant get over this girl but Im sure there must be a way.

in time, you'll get over this. it's called an obsession. find something else to do with your time other than obsess about this girl. she's not into you, you have to let it go. just give it some time.

Ok Ill try that but I thought I had already kindve tried that, Ive been trying not to like her for the past 2 years...

Don't hang out with her as a "friend" either. In addition to making you look slightly pathetic, it won't help you to get over her, either.

Sorry, sweety. There really IS a girl out there for you. You just have to find her, and that takes time.

youre still young there are alot of thins instore for a young guy like you... 2yrs maybe a bit too long for a relationship but then again you'll over it somehow .. keep the faith....

She's just a girl. You've invented most of what you think she is. Someday, you'll see this. Just believe that and try not to do anything embarassing in the meantime.

I know that it's hard for you to get over her, maybe you pretend that she's dead , so that you can chase other girls.........

The best way to get over someone is not to be around them! I know you guys are friends, but if you honestly can't handle it(which it sounds like you can't) then its best to distance yourself from her.

You have to respect the fact that she DOESN'T feel that way about you. So, distance is your friend.

I know rejection sucks, especially from someone you like A LOT! But, seeing as you cannot change how she feels, then its best to avoid contact with her as much as possible.

Only then will you be able to move on.
