Help my best friend

Ok guys and galz it is really important.

My best friend is in trouble or I can she is putting herself in trouble bcoz of a guy

Here is the story

She loves a guy who is her best friend . Well that guy cares for her but he loves another girl and unfortunately that girl is their best friend(don't get confuse) and that girl also like the guy

But my friend is not able to forget that guy . She tries very hard but still .

She even tried to kill herself by doing accidents . Well there are some family problems also . So she is very sad . I said to her to forget that guy and don't waste ur life on that guy.

I understand it is difficult to forget the one which you love

Can you all give any suggestion on how to forget that guy or any suggestion coz I don't want that she do somethin bad to her :upset:

Tell her to quit hanging around a guy who isn't interested in her romantically. To do so is only to prolong her misery.

Yes, well.. I knew a guy (asian) who tried to kill himself over this girl called Tracy.. the most horrible looking thing you've ever seen mind you..

anyway.. so.. he'd always tell us that he's going to kill himself, that he's going to die.. that today was his last day... and we all sat and watched him put ice on his wrists for 5 mins and try to cut them.. but then be complained that the knives were too dull... and then he tried to poison himself with tylenol.. :surprised yes.. he took 8 PILLS!!! omg.. lol

so.. long story short.. he never killed himself.. and till this day he lives on.. complaining constantly about her..

point of the story.. he wanted attention.. the kind of attention he never got from his family.. that he never got from Tracy.. so... he wanted it from us..

and.. well.. this is the least you can do for your friend right now.. give her that attention.. and don't entertain the idea of this guy too much.. she needs to slowly forget.. if she talks about him.. let her know.. that you won't talk to her.. and you'll leave if she even mentions him.. let her know that she can't speak of him around you.. that you hate the sound of his name...

then... try to find her an other guy... seriously.. if Tracy could get a little asian guy to think of dying over her.. then i'm sure your friend can do much better...

tell her all the bad story about other people...like what ever people been through...it doesn't help her to feel any better but at least she'll understand that she's not here alone...their are people out there just like her going through problems everyday. take me as an example, i've been kidnaped, my dad that i haven't seen in two years past away on the same day my mum suppose to come and visit me, a couple months later i got sexually assulted by my dad's god brother that i was living with, then my ex abuses me physically and emotionally over 2 years.....i'm still up set, mad, scare, hurt even today but i told myself that i'm sure a lot of people suffer probably harder than what i've been through and i can't give up living...

The family problems are probably at the root of her obsession with the guy, believe it or not. The guy is just a projection of something too close to home to deal with. Try to talk to her about those real problems and see if the guy thing doesn't fade back.

i agree...that's also the reason why i was my abusive ex for so long...my family sort of not support me for anything at all and i didn't have anyone else to run too but him....

Ok here is the family problem

She wanted to be a journalist but her parents wanted her to be a doctor . And her parents are forcing her badly . She is not able to handle the pressure of studies .

So she is facing two problems at a time

Suicidal pre-med student? Just what the world does not need. Do her parents know about the suicide attempts? I mean, were they genuine attempts to die or just manipulation tactics?

If her parents are unaware of this sort of behavior, they should be told. Your friend needs some psychological help.
