Long distance AND age difference

I've posted in another forum "ask girls" but neglected to introduce myself.
I'm a 43 year old divorced father of two; son in the army, daughter a princess at 11 years old. I'm in an interesting if not unique relationship in that I'm engaged to a fantastic young lady from another country, England, and I'm also a bit older than she, she's 23. We've known each other about two years and engaged a little less than one. We've helped each other through some tough times, her in a bad relationship, mine a divorce. After a good friendship, we've decided to take the next step and marry. At the moment we're in a rough patch in our relationship but are working together to try to solve the problems. I've asked her to also join and maybe get some advice and answers to her questions.
Looking forward to seeing what kind of help there may be on this site.

gosh, I hope she's mature for her age and you're younger looking than your age. There's really not much you can do to fix the age difference. Heck, women's sexual peak can be around 30, so you better stay in shape :P

If I was 43 and had a 20 year old daughter and my friend of 43 would try and date her I would kill him.

Her father is 7 yrs older than me and is actually pretty cool with the idea, Is only concern is that she is loved and cared for.

Maybe he should be more concerned that she is very likely going to outgrow you in a few years and then will be headed for divorce.

My best friend's mom is twenty years younger than her now-deceased husband. It was great when they were 20 and 40 respectively. At 40 and 60 it all fell apart. I'm not knocking you for having a girl 20 years younger. That rocks. I just don't know if marriage is such a fantastic idea. At your age how do you feel about 60 year old women?

My husband is american and im english and we met through yahoo believe it or not 7yrs ago.....there's 10 years between us and it hasnt changed a thing...you just have to be committed and mature enough to deal with other peoples views and opinions....at the end of the day if your happy then it shouldnt matter what other people think!

10 years is a LOT different than 20.

and 20 might not be such a big deal at 45 and 65.

But at 23 and 43?

What is she lookign for? Is she financially destitute?

Either she's gonna be lonely for a long time once you die, or she'll be young enough to pick up another person for the rest of it. Rather morbid thought.

Probably the former because life spans are so long now. Coupled with the fact that men tend to prefer dating younger women and that women already tend to outlive men, I'd say it would be best if she is very comfortable being alone.

this is closely similar to my love story:

long distance relationship....
i've been there for 2 years. i lived 24-hr plane ride away from him. gawd, i survived. he survived. we survived. voila! we are 3months happily married now!

age difference....
my hubby is twice older than me. i am 25. he's 47. i didn't have any problem and him as well. he treats me as a fragile butterfly. and he's my lovely flower to pollinate all the time. we add color to each other's life.

now, we are happily living in a tropical state of the US.
