Exchanged numbers... when to ask out again?

Hey guys,
Things have turned around a little since my last posts. I've been out of town alot and away from the people I was having trouble with and things have been pretty quiet I'm happy to say and my spirits have been a bit improved from that.

I was at a friends birthday on Thurs night. Met a lovely girl, she's a friend of the birthday girl. Ended up chatting and playing around a bit before making out a few times. I got her number but this is the bit I'm totally clueless with since its been so long.

But I'd like to at least see her again. We exchanged texts Friday night and she seemed really cool but it was difficult to guage her interest. Seemed high when I was with her, I'm just not good at judging people like this.

I'm heading out tonight with a few guy friends to a place in town where everyone goes, a pub/club, we usually go to have a drink and a game of pool at the weekend.
I was thinking of maybe texting her back something like "Hey, I'm heading to X tonight with a few friends if u are out you should drop by."

Er, I just don't wanna come off too needy or like its too quick to be meeting up again. Otherwise it'd probably be next weekend by the time I could see her and I don't know if she might have lost interest if I don't make contact til then.

Er, girls? haha... where's the happy medium between being cool and being needy.

Well, I wouldn't appreciate being told to "drop by". It could be interpreted this way: "Hey, toots. I'm gonna go hang out with a bunch of my friends, none of whom you know, in a place I'm familiar with, so if you feel like exposing yourself to a completely unfamiliar situation in which you are seen as the one putting forth all of the effort, I might want to stick my tongue down your throat later."

Now, Steve, of course I know you're not that guy, but she doesn't. She's a potential girlfriend. Don't treat her like a buddy.

Argh.. Female logic dictates again... lol ... ok... back to the drawing board. :)

Maybe I should wait until sometime during the week and ask her out?? But all I can think of is, like, a movie or something...I see where you are coming from with the plans above, I was just thinking of it as being a way to ask her to hang out without too much pressure on it being a "date" and doing the "boring, predictable" thing. Like thats what people do a lot around here. Like, she can bring her friends if she likes, you know? argh, like I said, its been a while since I've been in this position, so am a bit clueless as to how to try keep it going the right way.

Too much pressure on who? That's not a fair situation, unless she's kind of a bar babe and very comfortable in pool halls. (Like myself, I feel I should add.)

If you want to ask her out, you should call her within three days of getting her number, four at the outside. A lot of people (mostly guys) disagree with me about the validity of this rule, but let me assure you, many women will gauge the level of your interest and potential as a bf on this thing alone. I am not making this up and you would be wise not to blow it off.
