Everyone who has gone through a breakup has experienced this. You'll get over it in time.
Vashti is right. We all go through the same problem one way or another. I was with someone for nearly a year and then I realized that I must have been the most naive person in the world because she was just taking advantage of me that whole time...
I've accepted it now and it's made me stronger as a person knowing that you are not as invulnerable as you think and you have to be aware of those leeches.
Ha ha try three years of getting played. You want to talk about about feeling stupid?
I think the first step is realizing that you got played. If you never saw it, it would make you STILL stupid. But obviously you've realized the problem, so you have made a step forward.
And make sure you learn from it so it doesn't happen again.
Getting played hurts, of course. It causes you to question not only your attractiveness and perceived value to others but your own judgement as well. There is no way to come out of this without feeling pathetic.
Try to fully understand the power of choice- you don't need to let this happen ever again. Walk through the world with open eyes now. You'll get over it. Everybody does.
