how long...

i've noticed this question come up many times with people i know...
how long do you have to be with someone before you actually tell them you really really like them? or love them? i guess it matters on the situation but in general, is it wrong to never say you love someone until you are deep into the relationship? i know, it sounds kinda stupid to ask a question like this but i'm just wondering because i've known some people get married after only dating for about 2 years and then some people are dating for about 7 years and never get married. so how do you know how long it has to be before you get to this point?

I think it all depends. Personaly I would never say I love someone unless I knew the feeling was mutual. I think there is a fine line between love and extreame attraction. If you love someone no matter what happens you will both get through it. Take a silly fight for example. If the person who said they loved you is ditiching you because you have a simple disagreement then they were full of shit when they told you they loved you.

Also, marriage means pretty much diddly these days. I know a few couples who have been together for as long as I have known them and are not planing on getting married. Too many guys propose to save thier relationship.

all too true. i'd only marry someone if i had a kid with them. that's about it. my feelings could change tho...:goofy:

I agree on the whole marriage thing. Although lots of girls out there still dream about having weddings and being a Mrs. _____. But it really isn't necessary.

As for the "love", it depends on the person. But I'm like Squirrely. I won't say it unless I know that it'll be said back to me. Cause otherwise, I know it'll hurt and I don't really care to subject myself to any more pain than necessary. In ANYTHING I do.

PRIME example: the Average Joe shows. the way its set up is that a buffet of men are available for one woman. half the contestants are uber hunks and the other half are the title characters. they each get their shot at wooing the woman in control of the game, and in the end it boils down to one hunk and one joe. of the two seasons FOX has had the show, the joe gets duped because he professes love and the feeling isnt mutual. my suggestion for anyone with this question is until you KNOW the person can give you all the things you need, dont get emotionally attached, LOE, not pretty.
