New Found Hope/Interrupted by Idiot

Hey people i haven't been on in a while, but I'm back!
And I've got a really little problem compared to you guys...but I don't know where else to go.
Well first there is this kid that has always been like a kind of a rival with me. He's more athletic(not so much), but I'm more popular...(not to sound conceited). So he's always added little b*tchy comments to whatever I say, and usually not to my face. So for now I've ignored him all summer.
Back to the love part..I've had this friend since 2nd grade. She's always been a friend and we've been in classes from time to time together. And an aferschool tutoring place. We've always been just friends, but now i kinda like her alot. We talk a lot on the phone, and on a site like myspace. So we've gotten to be even more closer friends. Now we get our class schedules for the next year and we compare them on the site. I have no classes w/ her at all! We agreed to meet during the 4 minute margins HA. But after we compared schedules, i said "NOO OMG NOO! Thats SOO fr*cken GAYYYY." It sounded really dumb but i meant it. Then i check back on and guess who writes his little b*tchy comment? He says "wow (my name)'s post...wow...just wow"
I replied to him that "yes man, I am a little girl that says stupid things like that! oh give me a break!"
But i'm not satisfied. I know he likes the girl, but i also know that she 99% wouldn't like him.
So should i just ignore this idiot and do whatever or keep insulting him back?
And what to do about the girl...I wish i could see her more often!

I think people learn their lessons best when they are made to look stupid or mean. I wouldn't engage in a flame war unless you are really good at it, and you don't really sound like the type. Therefore, just write something back like:

????

mmm... okay?

If Charlieboy posts a response in your thread, I'd listen to him, though. He has a tongue as sharp as an axe. just be careful if you aren't prepared for this situation to escalate.

About the guy: insulting back is just what he expects from you, so do you want to give him this pleasure? Try making very cold, dry remarks instead. Like he talks rude - you answer back intelligently.
About the girl: if you don't feel like talking about your feeling to her, then take her to a dinner and get her some red roses. She would know.

Okay I'll be as intelligent as possible about the situation. And Chloe...I don't think 14 year old girls like dinner w/ red roses but what the heck! (Don't hate me if those were figurative roses) Thanks for the comments

Well, I've been a 14-year-old girl and I would definitly liked to be presented red roses by a boy. Okay, if that doesn't sound right, why not try just dinner in some nice place. Mind you, it should be a place she would definitly like and it should be unusual, not the one you're used to hang out in. And as you will walk her back home, who knows what may happen. Good luck!

Let him dig his own grave- he sounds like he's happy to oblige you by making an ass out of himself. if you're 99% sure she wouldn't go for him anyway, you have nothing to lose by just disdainfully brushing him off.

Do NOT show her that you are in any way threatened or concerned about him. I suggest making up a snarky little nickname for him and leaving it at that.

I would totally do what Gigabitch says and try your best to create a name for the guy. It would give you an edge if you decide to start a flame war with the guy because you can always call him the same thing. If your sure she is not into him then you have nothing to worry about. Just try not to come on to strong or you may scare her away.

Damn, he's more athletic than you are, so you can't jump him...but with your popularity and my brains, I'm sure we could think of a plan! :)
