I've never had a two-way love. Help!

The problem is that when I've fallen in love with a guy he either ignored me or preferred to stay friends. And if a guy fell in love with me, I felt nothing more than sympathy. It has never been so that both me and him fell in love with each other. I'm getting really desperate now. I'm afraid to start any new relations but I feel so lonely. Am I'm doomed to pretending? I could say yes to a proposal made to me by a guy who's my good friend now. But, then again, I can't even think of kissing him on the lips. He's just my friend. Do you think I'm hopeless or is there a way of changing the situation. What must I do?

You're not hopeless, you just haven't found the right one yet. I know that sounds really cliche, but it's very true. You can't make yourself love someone, and you can't make someone love you. Don't rush into a relationship you're not really into, it'll end up hurting everyone in the long run. Just be happy and content with yourself. Lonliness can be a killer, but it's easy to get rid of when you remind yourself how beautiful, strong and wonderful you are alone and that you don't need to be in a relationship or in love to make you any of those things.

Do not go for your friend just because you think you should or because you think you're missing out on something. There's no spark, and your relationship would be doomed.

Your future husband is out there, somewhere. You just haven't met him yet.

Are you sure your guy friends aren't gay? ;)

Don't worry though, I'm in your shoes (except I'm a guy). After a few years you might come to the realization that being single is a lifestyle, and even if it's forced upon you that's just how it is and to enjoy (or for some of us, take advantage of) the benefits that come with it.

You sound a little love-sick. I think that happens to just about everyone who has always been single. Try not to worry, because if guys like you enough to be your friend then you'll eventually find someone who you will love and who will reciprocate those feelings for you. It just might not be the most timely process :P

This was very reassuring. Though I do feel quite lonely now. Four years ago I was willing to get married and all and couldn't even imagine my life without a husband and children. But now I feel that I can do on my own. Though single lifestyle is just tooo lonely :( I don't know what to change in my life to find my soulmate. I can't wait any longer! I feel I'm going crazy... and I'm afraid to make a big mistake.

im thinking maybe your taking the guys who end up liking you for granted because they're right there as opposed to the guys who you dont get.
