So I found everything I wanted.

But we're not happy. She's going crazy and pushing me away. Last week she broke up with me for a night because of a couple of issues which stemmed from me being in a bad mood, so I turned my phone off for 3 hours so I couldn't talk to her (or anyone.)

We got back together, I've fixed the problems she had. Today I got a couple new problems that are the reason she's unhappy. I can't do this anymore.

But this is the first time I'd found a girl that was EVERYTHING I wanted in a girl. I honestly just want to give up and live lonely. what to do what to do? I'm never going to find anyone who meets all of my needs again. Lightning doesn't strike twice, and this lightning bolt was crazy.

Hmmm. Actually, I believe that people who have been struck by lightning once are much more likely to be struck again than people who have not, so I think it follows that someone who put their girlfriend on a pedestal and expected her to be perfect is likely to do this to the next girl, ad infinitum, unless he learns his lesson.

Here is the lesson: Date the girl. Not your idea of the girl, or your dream of finding a girl that is EVERYTHING. Next time, no expectations.

I just want to add one thing, no one is perfect. You may have the idea someone is, until the day comes and then your high expectations of that person is flushed. Try not to put so much into someone being perfect, because although we'd like to think they are, there are flaws or whatever they do arise.

I agree with giga on this too. You'll be suprised just how many times youre going to be struck!

Let me ask you this, if this was such a perfect person for you why are you doubting what to do?

yeah yeah, i know. I just mean that I always wanted to find a girl who was fun but could be serious, smart, but not full of herself. enjoyed reading and video games. cute and spunky.

i've never found a pleasant mixture of all of those things. this girl was. it's the first time that has happened. it's always too serious. fun, but dumb. hated reading and laughed at me for doing it.

i know she's not perfect. i didn't explain it all well enough. she's the one that broke up with me last week and i'm just trying to decide if i should do it tonight, but i think she'll be doing it if i don't.

i don't expect her to be perfect. i just think her personality is perfect for me, not that she's a perfect person.

It sounds like she's got some emotional problems, and I think you made a mistake in "fixing" whatever it was that was bothering her if it wasn't something you perceived as a problem.

yeah... she was making huge things out of small issues. she had a couple of valid points that needed to be worked out but everything else was small and dumb and just came down to she isn't happy because she's not going to be happy.

so yeah, we broke up last night.

and it's killing me.
