Does anyone here is a victim of spousal violence.
Is it still possible to continue living together once one parties lay hand on the other?
Is is common in your country, your society?

once he lays a hand on you, no matter what he says is you take him back you are giving him permission to do it again..and again..and again..
Too many women in America tolerate this kind of behavior, and our culture doesn't even openly endorse it. I can't imagine how it would be to live in a society that does.
At least in Peru, emotional violence/abuse is far more common than physical, and both against men and women.
I guess different country have different laws to protect the women...
But I think men should never lay hand on women...
No, a man never should.
But women who allow themselves to be beaten get what they deserve. And women who have children and still refuse to leave an abusive home deserve everything and more.
I was a victim of it. Although I was never hit, I was shoved, and held down, and threatened to be hit.
All by my ex-husband, who coincidentally is from India (where women are generally seen as inferior, yes). It is normal to him though, he saw his Dad hit his Mom, and he was beaten by his parents often. It was NOT okay with me, I was raised in a household that strictly forbid physical abuse against women. I left him.
I don't think a woman ever DESERVES to be hit, even if she stays. No one ever deserves it. Keep in mind that in some cultures, leaving your husband or retaliating to physical abuse could mean a death sentence for a woman. The psychological intimidation that goes along with it is also very incapacitating.
Jeezus BlueSum. How did you ever get him to leave you alone when you left? Guys like that turn stalker when they realize they've lost control over you. :horror:
He's still in love with me, whatever that means.
He has a new gf now, who apparently has slapped him on a couple of occasions...something I never did but should have. He's got a taste of his own medicine and it's not good.
What about if a woman hits a man what then? I've known some women who would do this because they knew they could get away with it.
For example, one of my exs (Biting retard) was a fan of inflicting pain on others (But not when it was done to her). She would hit or bite people for no reason, but don't you dare do something back to her. What do you do with them when it happens?
If a woman hit me I'd take the blow and then probably drag her into the bedroom and **** her brains out. But I'm a masochist.
Seriously, though. You hit a girl, you give her a black eye, maybe knock a tooth out. Girl hits you, it probably doesn't even leave a bruise.
She did leave a few bite marks which I carried with me for a week. That sh*t is degrading. I didn't do anything to her in return (Apart from holding her down, so she stops)
If I was with her for more than a couple of months who knows what sadism she'd bring into my life
Biting is different. I'll grant you that. But you don't hit her or whatever. You tell her to hit the road.
Violence doesn't beget violence. But if a girl whined about hit by her bf after she smacked him first, I'd say she got what she deserved. And if she hit him unprovoked....welll she's just crazy and he needs to get rid of her, press charges where necessary.
This sounds like scenes from Animal Kingdom, lol. I guess it works for lions or whatever. Mbe ppl too.Quote:
