Read into his body language. if he backs off let him do the kissing. I would love to french with my ex but I would constantly close my mouth with my new bf. He claimed I hated open-mouth kissing but he just was a slobber-er ;)

Just go about it slowly and calmly. If he backs off don't force him. Suck the lips if he likes and then again use your tounge when he allows it.
