very confused

I need some advice. I went on 3 dates with an old high school friend. It had been almost 18 years since I had seen him last. We talked on the phone on and off for a couple of weeks and as I said before, we went out 3 times. On our last date we were talking about what we had done that day, and I told him that I had lunch with an ex-boyfriend earlier that day. The ex and I are just friends and the guy I was dating knew this. My date absolutely FREAKED out on me. He started ranting and raving about how he was not going to put up with me seeing other people and that he was taking me home. I am totally freaked out. I really liked this guy , but I had no idea that we were seeing each other exclusively. He refuses to talk to me anymore and acts like I am just an awful person. I am so freaked out because I really liked him. I am so baffled by what happened. Any advice on this?

This sounds really strange. Have you guys dated before (years before) or done anything that makes him think that you guys are automatically exclusive?

Perhaps you can ask him what is bothering him since you have already made it clear that you and your ex are just friends.

This guy is controlling.

You won't like him anymore when he won't let you see or speak to any male friends of acquaintances.

Trust me, tell him to f*ck himself.

Did he have any experience of someone leaving him for a friend or an ex? It could be coming from real life experience.

Otherwise he could simply be too clingy.

So you had lunch with an ex......big freakin deal. Sounds like he has some massive insecurity issues. I wouldn't bother with him anymore if I were you.

Yes, I have some advice: change your phone number. Lucky, lucky you, that he did this before you got too involved or gave him a housekey. Also, make damned sure you tell people about this, and not just us. Tell your friends and family, just in case you go missing.
