you can go to a lot of post offices to get one. you have to have an id and a birth certificate.
they cost a couple hundred dollars.
Keep in mind it takes several months before you finally get it
Yes- don't wait another minute, Lilwing. You could totally screw yourself if you don't take care of this right now. Go to Kinko's and get two passport photos to include with your application. Bring your birth certificate and license, plus your school ID, plus a cashier's check for however much the fee is. I'm not sure, but I think you might have to sign the application in front of the person you're submitting it to, so don't do that until the last minute.
The place I got my passport took the photos right there, just like the DMV. Check it out beforehand.
shit yeah they are expensive.... and i think it's the same within the nation, but you'll need to go to the federal building in your state. shit, and the lines are usually freaking looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong... like my dingaling. (yup a whole 2 feet).. nah, it usually gets pretty busy though. try calling ahead to see which days are slow.

I got mine at the post office. I believe there are two services: standard and expedited. The latter is faster, but you pay more. You can get them even faster (days), but you just have to be willing to pay for it.
that's right, you can also go the post office to get an application or drop off your forms.
