How to make new friends

Hi thanks all for reading my previous post. Where can I meet some nice girls, I work long hours and also not really many girls there. I think there are some girls in the canteen but I just feel shy to approach them, I just dont know why - Im in IT and im not too sure which department they are in. What do i talk to them about? I just get tongue tied. Also im not a real big person for clubbing, i would not honestly want to meet someone like that, as a friend ok but not as something serious. Where could I go? If i see a nice girl shopping or working what can i do? Thanks for all your suggestions.

Well, the first step is not being shy. You WILL get turned down. It happens to ever guy. You need to accept it and learn from it. Once you're able to get over your fear of approach, you won't need to ask where to meet women.
