Help asking her out

So, I usually wouldn't turn to the internet for help, but in this situation I don't really have anyone around I'm comfortable asking for advice, so why not ask a stranger (hey, it's unlikely we'll ever meet if I make an *** of myself, right?)

I've known this girl for a few years. I'd say we are acquaintances. She's very pretty, has very similar interests to me, and whenever we are in a social situation we get along very well. I know she thinks I'm cute, so I have that going for me, but I just haven't been able to find the right situation to ask her out.

The problem is, I don't see her very often in a social situation, we're talking months between the last few time's we 'hung out'. She does share a class with me right now, but I never feel like there's a good opening there, especially with everyone else around.

She does work with my roommate, but they don't really hang out socially. I'd really like to ask her out in person, otherwise I'd just ask my roommate to pass along the message.

Right now I feel that my only option is just to walk up to her as she's leaving class and ask point blank, but I don't want to put her in an awkward situation. I'm kind-of a shy person in these situations too, so I also have the problem of working up the courage for the direct approach.

I'm pretty sure she'll say yes, it's just finding the right opportunity to ask that's been plaguing me.

Any idea's?

Just ask her after class about working on something for the class together, or studying for a test... once you get her # or you get together to study you won't have to worry about others being around.

Just ask her to a casual dinner, don't make a big deal out of it. Maybe after your done studying be like "Hey how about we go grab a bite to eat?"

You should have the guts to ask her out.
