Think I Might Be Screwing Up

Hello all. A little new to this but I wondering if you could help me out. My story is I work with this incredible girl. She just started two and half weeks ago, but I also know her from a previous job two years ago. It blew my mind when I walked in to work one morning and next thing I see is this girl that I haven't seen for two years after I quit my job. I always had something for her but never did anything about it b/c she had a b/f at the time. Now she's single and back on the market. My deal is I don't know if I'm reading her correctly and I think I might be screwing up big.

Let me quickly describe her. She's extremely mellow and doesn't allow the small things get to her. Very nice person with natural beauty.

My thing is at work I get the feeling that she may want me so yesterday I decided to call her up and asked her if she wanted to get together tonight for some dinner. She at first jumped in with a yes with a perk in her voice, but then sombered down and said that she forgot that she had plans to go to dinner with her family. I said that's cool, and suggested maybe something afterwards if she was still up for it. She said she will see how everything goes and will call me after she gets done with the family thing. She called and said that she was going to see the movie Troy with her brother that just got back into town. I told her I would like to but I don't want to impose since her brother just got back she might want to just hang out with him. She said don't worry about it, it's cool. With that established we hang up and I start to get ready. Ten minutes later I get a call back from her saying that her brother would rather go out drinking with his friends and that she's just going to stay at home and relax. I said that's cool and then she chimes in with but we should definately hang out, should definately hang out. It would be cool if we hang out. I say definately then we say goodnight and hang up. An hour later I send her a txt message asking if she is still up to see if she was up for talking a little over the phone. Haven't gotten a response back yet and I sent it an hour ago.

This is all that has happened up until now. From what I have typed out, can anyone tell me if I'm reading too much into something, or can you tell me if I'm screwing something up. Is the use of hanging out just her way of letting me know that nothing will ever happen outside of friendship and co-worker? Thanks to anyone that can help or offer useful advice. Thank you.

Hmm, hard to say. Some people just use different words. I think that since her family was in town it may have something to do with the whole situation but I dunno man. I wouldn't just give up though, she wouldn't have said it twice if she was just trying to blow you off. A lot of times I'm like that too though, I like to just stay home and relax. When I read it, I thought it was a little odd that you wanted to go see that movie with her and her brother... I dunno maybe you scared her a little bit being a little pushy. It's hard to say though, get a few more openions on here before you make a decision, I'm no expert.
