Getting a Motorcycle

I told myself I'd never do it. I warned my friends against it. Hell, I warned anyone who so much as entertained the thought.

And now I'm getting one.

I can't help myself, dammit! I've been riding dirt bikes and ATVs quite literally since I had the cognitive ability to do so. When I was four my parents gave me a plastic battery powered ATV. By the time I was seven I was driving a full-sized ATV around our cabin, and by 9 I was tearing up the mountains like a maniac on a mountain bike. But I've always kept offroad.

Well, I'm sick of watching other people have fun, goddammit. I'm getting a ****ing bike. Leaning toward a 250cc Honda Rebel. Small, light, very affordable. Probably the best starter bike out there. Since I've only driven trail and dirt bikes I figure it's best to stick with something that isn't terribly heavy. I'm planning to use it on my daily commute. Since I moved I have roughly a ten minute drive and I'm getting tired of my Jeep. So **** it. I'm going to have fun.

That motorcycle is sweet-looking. Just wear a helmet goddamit! It makes me want to scream when I see people riding helmet-less around the city.

That's what I always say. Doesn't matter how good a driver you are, the streets are packed with inept fools who have no problem risking your life and their own to shave a few minutes off their commute. I'll be as careful as I can be.

Helmet's required by law where I live. I'd wear one anyway, though.

Go for it! I'm about to re-take the test again to start riding again :) good thing is all that time you spent off road are going to prepare you quite well for ONroad. I'm still young so I'm into gimmicky things lol I've seen a few of those Sachs bikes around and quite cheap, just right for daily commutes and great to show off!

I've looked at that bike before.

I could probably buy it in cash, but that would deplete my savings.

Go for it. I think it's a shame guys always drive. Our anatomy makes riding in the back perfect. Just don't be surprised when my hands slide up from your tummy. Female anatomy makes for the perfect handholds, too.

That's definitely part of the appeal. I hate debt. I'm a bad little capitalist. I won't buy anything I can't afford. Credit cards, financing, etc. are all forms of voluntary slavery.

just try not to fantasize about me too much when you're riding it alone. you have to concentrate on the road.
