What does she think?

Hello,

Well i'm hoping someone here might be able to give me a hint to what a friend of mine thinks of me.

There are several things that confuse me about the way she acts towards me. We've been friends for a few years now, and were together for maybe the first year but that ended. More recently i've moved back into the area and now see her alot more often. She treats me like a friend in most ways, she tells me who she likes, and we talk most days. But then a few weeks ago she invited me to go out with her and her girl friends, so i did, was just me and her and two of her friends. Then again she invited me to a concert (with some quite girly bands) with her and two girl friends, so now i was beginning to wonder why she would chose to take me rather than another girl friend. Then finally, i had another of my friends (a girl) sat on my lap and she just gave us both the nastiest look ever, i asked her about it later and she said she just wasn't in the mood to see the girl who was sat on me. But it sounded kinda jealous.

So really what i'm asking is does she like me? or am i just a good friend? or does she think i'm gay?

First off, why would she think you're gay? Secondly, if she seemed jealous there is a chance she may like you. However, I know that when I like a guy I don't like to show my feelings to the guy because I'm afraid of what he'll think of me. If she thinks that you only think of her as a friend and she actually likes you, then she may not know how to show it.
Then again, if her seeming jealous that time was the only hint you've seen, the chances of her liking you aren't very large.

Well the gay comes from the fact that she invites me out with her and her friends, and i'm not the only guy she gets along with, but it's usually just me and them. Also i've all but told her that i'm interested her more than just friends, but i have a feeling she's marked me as not more than that :S

Care to elaborate more on that last part?

i agree with zilla.. give us concrete examples of you all but telling her. It could go a long way to us understanding.

my girlfriends often think me as one of their girlfriends, meaning I'm just another girl for them (though I'm a dude & definitely NOT gay). my thoughts are either you are just like me, another girl in their eyes, or that friend of yours is shy, so she had to invite her 2 friends to come along whenever she decided to invite you.

there's a little chance (depending on that ONLY smeer look), that she might like you. why don't you start asking around her 2 friends there. that might help...

Well with the all but telling her thing... She's constantly asking who i like, and i don't tell her, continually say that it's too embarrasing, and then she askes why i haven't seen her recently and i say because she was working, which is exactly what she was doing, i've done this type of thing severaly times. Also we have lots of mutual friends and all of them know what i think of her as i've told them, so i would have thought that she might have been told. And when out with her i tend to pay her alot more attention than i do the others, continually flirting with her. Oh and everyone who knows us both thinks that the way i act towards her is not subtle in any way. But then reading what i've just written maybe i haven't all but told her :S whoops. I talk to her quite alot lately about things, and i asked her if she'd disown me as a friend if it was any particular girl, so of course i asked her if she would if it was her, and she said she would (jokingly, well i hope so) and i then acted all sad and dissapointed hoping that she might have picked up on it (but then i guess she probably thought i was joking too). Not a clue if any of that really helped in anyway.

I do get the feeling she see's me just as another girl really :( so maybe it's just all wishful thinking on my behalf really

She definitely knows you are interested in her.

She could just be (as the woman) waiting for you (as the man) to make a bold move.

Oh for Pete's sake, grow a pair of testicles and ask the girl out already! Much longer, and she really will start thinking you're gay. Honestly.
