how do i approach this?

after me and my girlfriend decided to stop dating i though it was over and we were just gonna be friends...

but even after 2 months i still feel she wants something more...or it might be that i feel like things aren't really over.

Also everytime i finnaly decide to not try and get back together, one of my friends points out that she seems to be trying to get closer to me or is looking at me, this is shaking me up a bit and i dont really know what to do...(since she usually seems so distant, and this is why they notice)

By the way im going to her birthday party this friday...there is going to be about 20 people and i think i should try and meet someone new...but one of her freinds said something to me along the lines of " well at least you can think of something to with her until than"...what kind of left me confused since she is a pretty close friend of hers.

any ideas would be appriciated

It seems like she still wants to have a relationship with you. If you don't, then the best thing would be to pretty much avoid her so she won't get false hopes.

If you go to HER birthday party, it would be in particularly bad form to use it as an opportunity to meet new girls.

well i do want to get back together with her, but i've been wrong with many things about her before so this could mean something completly opposite for all i know...

I don't would like to not mess it up now that we can finally started to talk like normal people...
maybe i could ask her closes friend what she thinks and than decides..guess thats the best thing to do

I'd really sit and think about what drew you to her in the first place and see if its still there, if not I'd say y'all just like the thought of being together.
Asfor looking for someone at her b-day party, ouch, I'd stay away from that. Look outside of your friends, go to a place you haven't been before and look around.

What were the reasons why the two of you stopped dating?

to tell you the truth that the thing that's probably making me confused...we stopped because she couldn't get her head straight with how see sees me...as a friend or something more...and she told me she felt differently every hour...also it didn't help when she said she has been attracted to me for over a year,and the next day we decided to stop it
