I am currently watching a doco called "Painted Babies at 17" which is about the child beauty pagent scene.
I truly think these mothers have mental issues wanting to live vicariously through their children. Plus they load up the little girls in makeup and false eyelashes. Tease their hair to make them look like extras from Dynasty. I find it quite disturbing.
i watched a similar documentary. there was one where this mother had like, 3 other kids and they were all in jail, or alcoholics, or had some other kind of major malfunction and the mom spent all her money, and her husbands money, and all her time with the little pageant child who hated every second of it. the mother wouldn't even hug this child.
sad.
I noticed in this doco that they seemed to be lower socioeconomic people drawn into this world.
I also noted that a lot of the mothers weren't the most attractive people. That is why it is so obvious that they are living vicariously.
I think it's sad that women put lies on their faces at all.
i seen some of this shit on tv before.. how the f*ck do you judge a 3 year old whose wearing a stupid dress and is caked up like a barbie doll??
