Girls-do u make eye contact with guys?If so,why?

the reason i wanna know is that there is a girl in my college and we make eye contact whenever we walk past each other and we both maintain the contact till we completely cross each other.This has happened 5 or 6 times.Does it mean anything?what does it mean if a girl maintains a steady eye contact
