Keeping an online dating profile and still going on there if you are in a relationship?
Im really curious to why people still do it.
Is it because you use it to network, talk and socialise with people even though it is a dating web site?
Or would you use it to keep you options open,see what else is out there or because you are thinking of leaving or cheating on a partner?
I think that the reason why this person keeps their profile active and still checks it is because of attention. Everyone like positive attention. This doesn't mean that they are doing anything behind your back or disheartening to the relationship, but rather i believe it is a self confidence issue that they need the gratification of attention to make them feel good about themselves. Just try to communicate better. Have a conversation about it. Convey messages that this person means something to you and they have everything they need AWAY from the computer. Hope things work out.
Whatever the reason is actively going to a dating site while in a relationship is unacceptable. You should have a word with this individual.
I have a fake profile on ALT.com because the emails I get are absolutely hilarious, and I also check our couples profile on the same site. Those would be my personal reasons - there are indeed many reasons people may do this.
The online world has not become a source that can be trusted.
