Well, here in australia there's a fair amount of students who choose to work in brothels, not sure what the asian/local split is for that but just as in Canada the tuition fees for international students are pretty massive, so that's definitely one reason.

Some of them are lured here with promises of work. They don't speak the language or understand the customs, so when they actually show up in America they're pretty well stuck with whoever brought them over. And if whoever brought them is a two-faced pimp, well, that means they work in a massage parlor.

Having a student visa in Canada doesn't entitle a person to work. You have to apply for a work visa, and they may not give it to you if they think your parents have enough $ (y'know, since they're paying massive fees for their kids to get their schooling overseas).

without being bias, these women are probably paying for school and i'm going to guess that they come from poor households. just look at the women from thailand.
