Day Date?
I just met somebody I really like. We seem to have a lot in common and I love being around her. I met her at a party and we seemed to hit it off. I got her number and I want to ask her out, but haven't decided what to do yet. Here's the problem. I was thinking about asking her to lunch on Wednesday, but I can't decide whether or not that is a bad idea. Is it a bad idea for a first real date to be a day date? Would it be better to wait until Friday night when I can take her somewhere? We are in our mid twenties.

Monday is a bit short notice for a date on Wednesday.

Lunch dates are perfectly acceptable for a first date. In fact, I usually sugest lunch because it is easier to cut the date short if things aren't going well, and it is cheaper, which is good in case you don't like her.

Lunch date is better than a long evening date to me. The first date should be short, easy, and cheap. You guys are just checking out the potential for chemistry here. The second date I what I always consider the "real" date. So in my opinion you are doing great. Even a quick coffee break is appropriate at this time.

i think a date day would be fine. i think it's best for a first date. very neutral and easier to end if things dont go well. either or, i think it's a good idea
