want to make a move without seeming desperate

well its been two months since my bf and I split and about 3 weeks since we have spoken, and I think Im ready to move on.

I met this guy through a friend about 8 years ago and he is in town visiting a some mutual freinds. We hung out last night and we are all going to hang out again tonight. He's from out of state and will only be here a few more days. (sucks)
anyway, I really like him. He seems really nice, very smart, travels. We have the same interests, and I found him inspiring. I have butterflies for the first time in a long time. Its very rare that I meet a man that makes me feel this way.
So to not come across as desperate, I have been playing it cool.
We had some great conversations last night and my friend noticed he was flirting with me a little.
I told him I run every morning and he asked if he could join me and he met up with me this morning.
I dont want him to leave thinking I wasnt into him, but I dont want to come across as desperate either.
im so nervous that he's going to leave in a few days and just think I was some cool gal to hang with but nothing more.
how can I let him know im really into him without coming off as desperate? I would totally try a LDR with him if he was interested.
But I dont think a dew days time getting to know each other is enough. SO I dont know.
Sucks that I finally meet someone I really like and he doesnt even live here.

If you just say: "Hey I really want to see a movie, want to come with?" ... that doesn't come across as desperate (you're just convincing yourself that it may)

The LDR situation... thats a little sticky. It depends on what he is looking for. I mean, he could be all game for starting a LDR, but usually... from my experience, LDRs are a pain, especially if you don't know the person for that long of a time.

have you guys exchanged Phone numbers/emails yet?

Might be a really good way of letting him know your interested, give him your contact details and tell him that if he is ever in town again to look you up...easy peeezzzzyyyyy :)

As a general rule, long distance relationships don't work. Are either of you in a position to relocate?

Noone hates a person who shows genuine interest in them. He will not hate you for having tried. Besides it sounds as if he actually COULD be interested - so why not make a great impression by taking the initiative!
