What is he thinking???
My boyfriend and I are on a break. We have been dating for 3 years. He told me that he just wants to think about himself for awhile and hangout with his friends. I still try and talk to him everyday. Just to see how he is and what he is up too. He has been going out with his friends every night. I just want to sit him down and talk to him to find out when he thinks the break will be over. He is truely the love of my life. Im just so confused by everything. So my question is why does he think he has to be on a break to hangout with his friends?

Sounds like he needs some space, so it is a very bad idea for you to be calling him every day. Stop calling him. Or at least cut it down to once or twice a week.

I agree with Charlie, let him do what he needs to do if it's meant to be he'll be back

He probably needs a little time with his friends, he misses the "old days", hanging out with the guys... Maybe your relationship was being closed to going out without each other, so now he feels "closed up" and needs some space. If he truly loves you, he'll come back, but I must agree for not calling him that often. Let the guy have his free time. He probably is smart enough not to make any stupid things.

If he "needs a break" contacting him is not a good idea.
Don't contact him and as hard as it is wait for him to come to you :)
Been in that spot, and contacting him is not letting him be on a break, so it will just take longer.

What Riv said.
He told you he needs a break, you're contacting him.
By doing that you risk pushing him away from you. Stop it, grow up and give him what he asked for.
You can't control the outcome.
As far as it comes to his friends: maybe he needs male company around him right now to work through 'male' problems and receive 'male' advice.
Yes doll, just like you women sit around a table and go blah blah blah about everything, we men do the same thing.
