Drunk Bootey Call Text WTF

I'm got totally ****ed up by one of my friends last night.

so a little back story. in my senior year of high school i met a guy who became a good friend of mine. overtime i found out he liked me and went to prom together but at the time this other guy liked me and i ended up choosing the other guy.

after a summer of no contact i got a phone call from my friend ( by that time i was already broken up with that other guy) while i was in college and we talked and ended up getting into a habit of texting. so for the last 3 years we have been texting on and off for periods of time , and even if we didn't text at the time he would always remember to wish me happy birthday, but in those years we only saw each other in person about 3 or 4 times when i accidentally ran into him on a train or street since we live close to each other. during these three years i've come to realize he wasn't the sweet boy from high school anymore but ****ed around a lot and actually got his ex pregnant and she had an abortion. i tried to ignore all that and to still be friends.

so leading up to what actually happaned. a few days ago i asked him if he wanted to go a club with me and my friends but he couldn't make it and said he was sad my timing was bad and wish he could go. NOW last night i get a series of strange messages at 3 am asking where i'm "partying at tonight" and i asked if he was drunk and his answer was " no i wanna **** you". i got freaked out and turned my phone off. in the morning i found a few more messages that went something like this "hehe, rejected..." and " i'm right by your house right now". i felt sick to the stomach, i don't know what it was about these messages but they totally freaked me out and i even spend the morning throwing up because of a twisting knot i got in my stomach.

i waited all day for him to apologize but never got one. so i texted him asking wtf happened and he first said he didn't know what i was talking about and then said he checked his messages and was like " oh ops sorry haha". by that time i felt so sick and upset that i demanded an explanation or at least a good apology and a lot was said but to summaries; after a few texts he started saying the messages were meant for someone else and he didn't care enough about me to apologize again because i was someone he barely even talked to and he didn't care enough.

so can someone please tell me what to think. i don't know if i should believe him that they were meant for someone else since it took him 2 hours of arguing to say they were meant for someone else. and if they were meant for someone else why couldn't he understand how his message freaked me out and even hurt me, but instead he attacked me calling me nuts and saying how he didn't give a shit.

Of course he should have apologized. You know what to think: he's a jerk and no real friend.

thanks for your advice guys. i was actually stupid enough to try to mend things after the fight because i didn't want to throw away 3 years of friendship over this stupidity, but he totally ignored my text. BEH. i guess you guys are right, he's not worth it.

Yeah, just leave him alone. He sounds like a jerk. Not worth stressing over.
