Should one act out of instinct?

I have a problem.. I'm feeling really awkward these days... I made a whole new group of friends. They're all girls, but I have a feeling I'm acting totally impulsive. When I'm going out, I feel like I should just like my emotions out and do what I feel... I'm kinda scared that i might hurt someone... I'm not a player, but I think being lonely is consuming me... I got out of a really awkward relationship.. and I don't want to be in love... but I feel the urge to just act out what I want... When I see these girls I hang out with.. I'm not sure if I want to ruin a good friendship, but I tend to have the urge to grab the girls, and kiss them.. I'm driving myself insane thinking about the consequences, and I'm not sure if I should just try to brush off my emotions...
I'm just really lost... I have no idea on what I really want... I am wondering ... Should I just go risk it.. and go ahead and do what I'm feeling inside...? I don't want to hurt anyone, it's just the fact that I'm acting impulsive that's getting me into trouble.. Is acting out what i feel alright or should I just tone it down a bit, and think about consequences.. I'm having trouble controlling myself... I'm just not sure anymore...
