I get abit turn off when i heard the news about iphone 4G prototype is leak in taiwan...
btw, anyone of you using an android powered smartphone?
I am planning to get one for a new site dedicated to android powered product.
I have an iPhone I'm not using right now.
A Blackberry Pearl and a Blackberry Curve 8320.
Yeah I'm an iPhone whore. I craigslisted my 3G the second the 3GS came out to upgrade.
About the rumors, you mean this one:
http://joshl2.blogspot.com/2008/12/iphone-4g-in-2009.html ?
I don't really buy it because of the memory claim. 128GB of memory for the high end iPhone just seems ridiculous. So far the memory has only doubled on iPhones every generation, not quadrupled. Not to mention that flash memory is still prohibitively expensive, 128GB would increase the manufacturing cost of the iPhone significantly, while offering less in return than investing into OLED / IMLED screens or more efficient 3G chips.
If I could ask Steve Jobs for features, I would ask for a better camera, 5MP minimum with LED flash for night time, more battery capacity, OLED or IMLED screens for reduced power consumption, and a more efficient 3G switchboard. Maybe a real GPS chip since the built in workaround is cheap and inaccurate, though workable.
I don't know though, Apple has been plenty good about keeping their new products under wraps. Even the new Tablet PC is still a well-guarded secret. Getting that specific a leak just seems a little unlikely, not to mention the information suspect. They are just generic claims about what directions most cell phones are headed towards.
wtf is a smart phone?? i don't need a phone telling me what to do with my life.

I have the iPhone 3G and it keeps me pretty occupied when I'm bored ... I use it to check my e-mail more than actually using my computer because it's more efficient at it. I would get a 3GS if I didn't have just under a year left on my plan.
The fact that I can be tracked by my cell phone is bad enough.
These smartphones are even more accurate since they have GPS.
No thank you.
yea.. they have GPS. iphone to be specific..Quote:

lol :D
iPhone doesn't have true GPS, it just triangulates your position based on wifi and GPS access points. Plus you can disable location services and it won't use GPS.
But yeah, your cell phone usage makes you easily tracked, that goes for all cell phones though. They can all be triangulated via satellite.
Iphone 3G 16gb. For GPS and hiking I use my old Nokia 5500, on which the mic is half-dead and is run down but still pulls through. Especially when going out of the city, the iphone's reception is still stuck in the starting block, but that's what you get when a PC/Mp3-making company goes into telecom.
I thought about getting a Smart Phone, but I honestly don't see myself using any of the features. I go for the free phones these days and use the dough I save on something I'll actually get some use out of.
If I got a Blackberry my life would be over as I know it. Regular email is bad enough, no way I'm getting messages all day on my phone.
I have a good cell phone w/BT & I don't text or email w/it. I ended up with an iPod touch when I bought my new computer & its just a portable music/game machine. The keypad for typing absolutely sucks. iPhones are overrated, IMO.
