Are you crazy?
I thought of you this past week... I had TWO patients s/p motorcycle accidents. Nasty wounds, but very lucky to be alive.
Not crazy, passionate. I intentionally took time away so I could slow down and kind of bring myself back down to earth from my wreck this summer. I am without a doubt leaps and bounds more respectful and responsible in every aspect of riding now.
What kind of gear were those two wearing? Your gear should suck up a massive amount of damage before it gives way if you have good gear and its not ridiculous circumstances.
I replaced everything but my gloves from the crash because I wasn't happy with the performance of some of it. My gear now is worth a little over a third of the new bikes value. I didn't skimp anywhere.
I don't know what they were wearing. One had crush injuries to his lower leg and ankle, with tissue gone clear down to the bone. The student I was mentoring was pretty grossed out when we did a bandage change. :D
The other boy had facial fractures and broken ribs.
No helmet I would imagine.Quote:

I ride without boots and pants on from time to time, but no helmet....no sympathy here.
not much you can do about crush, sometimes you are just going to get pinned.
I'm always taken aback by the folks who ride their motorcycles shirtless and wearing regular bluejeans and sneakers.
When I see people riding without a helmet I can't help but imagine their heads as giant over ripe cantalopes. SPLAT! <shiver>
It kinda kills the mystic of motorcycles for me.
Can't you do something like fly aeroplanes? Just as thrilling and at least when they crash it tends to be definitive.
What bike you get Cbrider?
2007 GSX-R 750, Black/Blue.
I'll post up some pics when its light out.
I don't know if airplanes provide the same thrill, though. Perhaps aerobatic planes, but it ain't exactly easy to get behind the yoke of one of them. Plus you can't exactly hop into the cockpit on the spur of the moment and shoot out into the wild blue.
That said, you all need to go out to your local airports and go up for an hour. I can't imagine living in this era and not participating at least once in mankind's second greatest miracle. The first being spaceflight, of course. Hopefully we'll live long enough that that is also made accessible to the public.

Motorcycle crash sends two to hospital
Two people were taken to the hospital following a motorcycle crash late Thursday afternoon on Interstate 40, according to Albuquerque police.
Albuquerque Police officers were dispatched to the crash about 5:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-40 at University.
The motorcyclist slowed down for traffic, but did not stop in time and crashed into a barrier, according to an e-mail sent to media by Albuquerque Police Department spokeswoman Nadine Hamby.
Both the driver of the motorcycle and his passenger suffered serious injuries. Neither were wearing a helmet, according to the e-mail.
They were taken to the University of New Mexico Hospital.
It was not immediately known if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
The victims' names are expected to be released tomorrow.
I want a cruiser. :(
I finally got around to getting out the camera and it was really nice out this afternoon.
Here's a couple pictures, my dog likes to be in the middle of everything.
