boyfriend of five years on a two week break

hi really need ur advice

me and my boyfriend have been together for 5years he's 23 and im 20.Our relationship has been great but theres been so much probelms with my family and his that its taking its toll on him.He's been there for me throughout providing financially while also supporting me emotionally which im very grateful for.
But on sunday he told me he feels worn down and needs two week break because my probelms seems never ending while his situation is only getting better but we will talk to each other.He says he still loves me but Im so heartbroken hes my bestfriend and i just love him so much so its really hard for me at the moment.even though im trying to respect his decision i dont want to get my hopes up about us getting back together! what should i do guys?do you think the relationship is over?
