When finances break a relationship

I know from personal experience how financial difficulties can definitely affect a relationship. So much turmoil and general loathing of self and one's partner can grow from simply not having enough to pay the bills, food, etc... I suspect that that's why a lot of persons involved in relationships are searching for escape routes outside of their relationships and the responsibilities that go with them. I think we have to seriously wake up and realize that our worth is not tied to the material things that we have because they can be taken away through a recession or a natural disaster. I mean look what happened in Haiti....

Though, in a truly committed relationship, one or both can work together toward a better economic position. They both can think and grow prosperous, if their love is such it can plow through everything.
