How can I earn the respect of the one I still love?

Good day, fair ladies.

I joined this place with a thread about how my LDR now-expartner broke up with me, and how all bridges as of now are burned to contact her again.

I have made a lot of research here, by asking females close to me, and by reading extensively.

It all led me to decide to, for starters, stop attempting to contact her. In the meantime, I will also have a spiritual trip of sorts. Turning myself around in eighty days, starting today. In that time I will aim to lose weight, gain a hobby, and a more positive outlook on life...all of the above by first overcoming the selfloathing that came with the breakup and the way I initially handled it.


But I value her dearly. I just cannot find myself willing to forget three years of happiness we shared. I had my severe flaws, which only triggered hers. Now I understand that.

After waiting an appopriate time, is there a manner in which I could talk to her once more, to earn her attention, her respect, her trust, and if possible, her love?

To this end, I am willing to spend the meantime improving and strengthening myself. It does not fit within my beliefs to just let us live the rest of our lives without talking to each other ever again. Far less so to give up on the entire matter. I know I failed once. But I want to prove myself redeemable to the one woman I love. And that, even if eventually, love conquers everything.


I pledge my attention to what you have to say, respectable ladies.

I forgot something. Her birthday is March 11. Should I break NC even if to send her a card, to show I care and ask for a lighthearted date? Or to ignore it altogether, extending the NC toward a better day? What is best?
