Really?

Just wanting some advice.....I royally got ganked by a man that I really loved. He says he wants to "be friends" and I don't think I can handle that. Why would someone who tells you they love you and then dumps you want to still be friends????? Why can't he just go and leave me be so I can get over all of it and move on.

Because he wants to keep you around in case he has a dry spell. Tell him to go **** himself.

My guess is that he wanted to "soften the blow"...so to speak. He obviously likes you too much and doesn't want to lose you. But he doesn't love you, so he doesn't want to be your boyfriend.

Tough situation. Most anoying part is that you can't really do anything about it besides getting over it. It's up to you to decide if you like him enough to still be around him....or not
